Sean is a Halifax native who attended St. FX University for his Diploma in Engineering and then completed his Bachelor of Civil Engineering at Dalhousie University in 2010. As a student, Sean was employed as a materials technician at AMEC from 2006 to 2010. He worked at Stantec Consulting Ltd as a Materials Engineer and Project Manager and currently works for NSTIR as Sean is also a member of CTAA and Engineers Nova Scotia.
Matthew graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering in 2007. Upon graduation he began working for Maritime Testing Ltd as a Project Manager in the Materials Engineering Division. In 2011, He then moved to Dexter Construction as a Quality Control Engineer for the mobile asphalt division based out of Truro, Nova Scotia. Matthew is a member in good standing with Engineers Nova Scotia and is also a member of CTAA.
Ed is currently the Pavement Management Coordinator for the Halifax Regional Municipality. Prior to joining the Municipality in September 2016, Ed worked for Stantec Consulting Ltd. as a Materials Engineer for two and a half years and as a Materials Engineer and Project Manager with Maritime Testing Limited (now Englobe) for nearly five years. He graduated with his bachelor of engineering degree from Dalhousie University in 2002 where he continued his graduate studies, completing his M.A.Sc. in 2005 and working part time to complete his Ph.D. in 2014. He is currently a member of CTAA, TAC and a member of the board of directors for ACI Atlantic Chapter. Ed currently resides in Middle Sackville with his wife Denise and their two sons, Gavin and Owen.
Julie is originally from PEI, graduating from the University of PEI with a Bachelor of Science and continued on to obtain a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Dalhousie University. During her university career, she worked with a local consultant as a municipal inspector around the City of Charlottetown and continued on to complete a summer work-term with Lafarge Canada Inc. in Halifax. Following graduation, Julie began her engineering career at Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions in Dartmouth, NS. Currently, Julie is a Senior Materials Engineer with Wood. She has been heavily involved with numerous materials related projects in the Atlantic Provinces, Ontario and Alberta over the years. Julie is a current member of Engineers Nova Scotia, PEGNL, CTAA, NSRBA, NSUPA and NBUPG
Originally from Prince Edward Island, Graham started studying at UPEI before completing his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering at the University of New Brunswick. In 2007, Graham began working with Brun-Way Highways Operations in operating, maintaining and rehabilitating 275 km’s of the Trans-Canada Highway in New Brunswick. In 2014, he moved to Halifax to work for Cumberland Paving and Contracting (Miller Group) and is currently the Construction Manager of the Halifax office. Graham has over 10 years of experience in road construction and the asphalt industry. He is a registered professional engineer in both New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
Peter was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering in 2011, and a Master of Applied Science in Civil Engineering in 2013. He has worked for Englobe (previously Maritime Testing) since 2008, first as a technician primarily focused on hot mix asphalt laboratory mix design formulation, and production testing. Since 2013, Peter has worked as Project Manager and now Team Leader with the Materials Engineering Team. He is responsible for asphalt mix design and provision of QC / QA for numerous Municipal, Provincial and Federal paving projects. He is also responsible for managing testing on a variety of Portland Cement projects, as well as specialized pavement projects including smoothness testing and pavement structure evaluation and testing. Peter is registered with Engineers Nova Scotia.
Yuri started his career in heavy equipment sales more than 20 years ago at Lounsbury Ltd. in Truro. He is currently Corporate Account Manger for Brandt Tractor and travels the Maritime Provinces selling John Deer, Bomag and NPK. Yuri is past board member of the NSRBA and Forest Products Association of Nova Scotia. Yuri resides in Pictou County with his wife Tracey and their two daughters who are both attending St. FX University.
Matthew is originally from Truro, Nova Scotia. He attended UNB Fredericton where he completed his degree in Civil Engineering and a Diploma in Technology Management and Entrepreneurship. During his time at University he worked his summers in Truro with NSTIR. Upon graduating in 2014, Matthew moved to Toronto to work with Imperial Oil as a Construction Project Manager. He also simultaneously founded an internationally recognized business based in Fredericton where he developed a device that retrieved experienced golf balls from golf courses within North America. In 2016 he joined Costin Paving in Amherst Nova Scotia as the general superintendent where he worked alongside his wife and father in-law. In 2017 Costin Paving was acquired by Municipal Group of Companies where Matthew assumed the role of Operations Manager.
Chris was born, raised and currently resides in North River, Colchester County, NS, with his wife, two daughters and 2 rescue dogs. Chris started his secondary education path at the NSAC in the engineering field. A change in his interests and focus led to his enrollment at COGS, where he graduated with a Survey Technician Diploma. Chris began his work in highway construction with the NSDOT as a survey assistant. This would lead to the start of his career Quality Control (QC), doing field density testing. Chris then started work as a QC Technician with John Emery Geotechnical Engineering Ltd (Dessau) on the Cobequid Pass, followed by Jacques Whitford (Stantec) and Maritime Testing (EnGlobe). Chris then moved on to a position of Materials Lab Manager with General Liquids Canada. Chris has recently started working with NSTIR at Highway Construction Services. Chris is a Certified Civil Engineering Technician with TechNova and a member of CTAA.
Derek was born and raised in Amherst, NS. He graduated from New Brunswick Community College, Moncton, with a Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology in 2006 following up with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of New Brunswick in 2010. Upon completion of his degree, Derek joined Cumberland Paving where he served as Project Manager, moving to Nova Construction Co. Ltd. in 2013, as a project manager. .
Reggie graduated from University of New Brunswick in 2005 with a Bachelor of Forest Engineering and a minor in Civil Engineering. Reggie began his career the Garden River Highway project with Kiewit, then to a Highway construction project in New Brunswick with Brunway Construction Ltd. Once completed, Reggie then went to work with Lafarge as an estimator of smaller paving projects. Reggie joined the Municipal Group of Companies in 2009, where he went to Labrador to work on a Railway construction project, then to the Rte. 1 Gateway Project in New Brunswick.
In 2012, Reggie started working for NSTIR as an operations supervisor and then a project engineer. Reggie now works for Defence Construction Canada as a contract services coordinator. Reggie is a member in good standing with Engineers Nova Scotia.
Anthony was born and raised in Halifax. He graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor in Civil Engineering Cooperative Program in December 2012. During his coop terms, he worked with Maritime Testing (now Englobe) in mid 2011 as a Materials Field Technician. In the summer 2012 term, he worked with Dexter Construction as a Project Coordinator assisting in estimating, operations and quality control. Following his graduation, he joined Dexter full time in 2013 in the Quality Control Department as Quality Engineer. He then worked on the Argentia Graving Dock Project in Newfoundland in Operations and Quality for 2 years. In 2015, Anthony returned to the Bedford Office as a Highway Estimator responsible for all Nova Scotia paving tenders and airport runway rehabilitation projects both in Atlantic Canada and the Caribbean. Anthony is a Registered Professional Engineer in Good Standing with Engineers Nova Scotia.
Chris was born in Moncton NB but moved to Lower Sackville NS as a young boy where he has resided since. After a rewarding career in the Landscaping and Sales industry, Chris was up for a new challenge in a somewhat different area of work and in 2009, started his career with Truro based Aggregate Equipment, in the heavy equipment industry. Aggregate Equipment covers many aspects of road construction; from the equipment used in the processing of raw materials to the parts needed, equipment sales and servicing of equipment all the way to the supply of asphalt spreaders. Chris started with Aggregate as a Sales Representative, logging thousands of miles by covering the majority of Atlantic Canada. After a few years as a Sales Rep, Chris moved to Equipment Sales Manager and is now the General Manager and active partner in the business.
