Reggie graduated from University of New Brunswick in 2005 with a Bachelor of Forest Engineering and a minor in Civil Engineering. Reggie began his career the Garden River Highway project with Kiewit, then to a Highway construction project in New Brunswick with Brunway Construction Ltd. Once completed, Reggie then went to work with Lafarge as an estimator of smaller paving projects. Reggie joined the Municipal Group of Companies in 2009, where he went to Labrador to work on a Railway construction project, then to the Rte. 1 Gateway Project in New Brunswick.
In 2012, Reggie started working for NSTIR as an operations supervisor and then a project engineer. Reggie now works for Defence Construction Canada as a contract services coordinator. Reggie is a member in good standing with Engineers Nova Scotia.
Peter was born in Halifax. He graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering in 2011, and a Master of Applied Science in Civil Engineering in 2013. He has worked for Englobe (previously Maritime Testing) since 2008, first as a technician primarily focused on hot mix asphalt laboratory mix design formulation, and production testing. Since 2013, Peter has worked as Project Manager and now Team Leader with the Materials Engineering Team. He is responsible for asphalt mix design and provision of QC / QA for numerous Municipal, Provincial and Federal paving projects. He is also responsible for managing testing on a variety of Portland Cement projects, as well as specialized pavement projects including smoothness testing and pavement structure evaluation and testing. Peter is registered with Engineers Nova Scotia.
Chris was born and currently resides in North River, NS, with his wife, two daughters and 2 rescue dogs. Chris started his secondary education path at the NSAC in the engineering field. and then enrollment at COGS, where he graduated with a Survey Technician Diploma. Chris began his work in highway construction with the NSDOT as a survey assistant. This would lead to the start of his career Quality Control (QC), doing field density testing. Chris then started work as a QC Technician with John Emery Geotechnical Engineering Ltd (Dessau) on the Cobequid Pass, followed by Jacques Whitford (Stantec) and Maritime Testing (EnGlobe). Chris then moved on to a position of Materials Lab Manager with General Liquids Canada. Chris has recently started working with NSTIR at Highway Construction Services. Chris is a Certified Civil Engineering Technician with TechNova and a member of CTAA.
Matthew is originally from Truro, Nova Scotia. He attended UNB Fredericton where he completed his degree in Civil Engineering and a Diploma in Technology Management and Entrepreneurship. During his time at University he worked his summers in Truro with NSTIR. Upon graduating in 2014, Matthew moved to Toronto to work with Imperial Oil as a Construction Project Manager. He also simultaneously founded an internationally recognized business based in Fredericton where he developed a device that retrieved experienced golf balls from golf courses within North America. In 2016 he joined Costin Paving in Amherst Nova Scotia as the general superintendent where he worked alongside his wife and father in-law. In 2017 Costin Paving was acquired by Municipal Group of Companies where Matthew assumed the role of Operations Manager.
Derek was born and raised in Amherst, NS. He graduated from New Brunswick Community College, Moncton, with a Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology in 2006 following up with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of New Brunswick in 2010. Upon completion of his degree, Derek joined Cumberland Paving where he served as Project Manager, moving to Nova Construction Co. Ltd. in 2013, as a project manager.
Lauren graduated from Dalhousie University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering. She spent her co-op terms at Englobe working on aggregate and asphalt mix design testing as well as asphalt mix production at various asphalt labs across the province. She later went on to work as a materials engineer and project manager. She is now the Quality Manager for Basin Contracting, supervising various provincial and municipal projects as well as their CCIL certified asphalt and aggregate laboratory. Lauren is a registered professional engineer in good standing with Engineers Nova Scotia and a member of CTAA.
Myles was born and raised in Dartmouth, NS. In 2016, he graduated from Dalhousie University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Later that year, he started with Stantec Consulting Ltd. as a geotechnical/materials field technician. Over the years he has progressed into a pavement/materials engineer and is currently the Materials Team Leader. Myles is a member in good standing with Engineers Nova Scotia.”
Craig was born in Nova Scotia but grew in Victoria, B.C. After working as a Helicopter Logger to Construction Laborer, he relocate back to Nova Scotia, attended Dalhousie University and graduated with a Bachelor of Mineral Resource Engineering in 2017. Craig was accepted for a Co-op with AMEC and after graduation, joined AMEC as a Senior Materials Technician/Engineer in Training. From 2017-2022 Craig was involved in many aspects of asphalt testing and inspection for NSTIRs' Quality Assurance Program. In 2022, Craig joined Dexter Construction as a Quality Control Supervisor for asphalt operations for Bedford and the Annapolis Valley. Craig is member of Engineers Nova Scotia and is on the executive board for the West Colchester Minor Hockey Association.
Jeff, originally from Cape Breton, now resides in Truro. Jeff studied at Cape Breton University and Nova Scotia Community College, and he graduated with a Diploma in Electronic Engineering. Jeff started in the construction industry in 2012, when he began paving and concrete work while continuing his post-secondary education. In 2018, Jeff joined Aggregate Equipment Limited as Sales Representative for Nova Scotia. Aggregate Equipment covers many aspects of road construction, including sales, parts, and service for crushing, screening, mining, and paving equipment. Jeff continues to support customers throughout Nova Scotia and PEI.
Marcel is a professional in the energy and chemical sales industry. Marcel's career commenced at Baker Hughes as a Senior Account Manager in Alberta from 2003 to 2008. Marcel joined Multi-Chem as a Regional Sales Manager in Pennsylvania
Marcel's then started at Irving Oil in 2013 as a Chemical Sales specialist. Work continued as Team Lead - Export from 2017 to 2022, Irving Blending and Packaging. Presently, in 2022 Marcel became the Canadian Asphalt Sales Manager at Irving Oil. Marcel's is currently pursuing part-time studies to attain a BA diploma.
Charles has a civil engineering degree from the University of New Brunswick.
Charles started as an Engineer In Training at Dillon Consulting in Yellowknife, NT, from 2009 to 2012.
Charles became a Project Engineer at the City of Yellowknife, where he managed vital municipal infrastructure projects,. Charles was appointed by the Government of Canada as a Senior Engineer from 2015 to 2018 as a Project Manager on the Giant Mine Remediation Project. Charles transitioned to NSTIR in 2018 as a Senior Project Engineer., He now serves as Construction Manager in Highway Construction Services,
Originally from Bridgewater, Colin graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering in 2008. He began his career with Maritime Testing (now Englobe) in 2009. Colin then moved to Vancouver and worked for 3 years as a Pavements and Materials Engineer with EBA Engineering Consultants and then returned Nova Scotia and rejoined Englobe as a Materials Engineer. In 2017 he joined Shaw Resources as their QA/QC Supervisor for Fly Ash operations, in Trenton, and aggregate production in Milford. In 2020, Colin started working for HRM and is now the Manager of the Transportation Infrastructure Management group with Public Works.
